The wonderful autumn nature in October encouraged various guests to come to Krakow, thanks to which ErasmusKrakow had its hands full!People from different countries (Latvia, Germany, Portugal, France, the Czech Republic, and Spain), different generations, backgrounds, and professions met in Krakow during the Erasmus + program last October. Their journey often began on the famous market square (Rynek), bathed in sunshine this October. After the St Mary's Trumpet Call played every hour in each of the four cardinal directions, they discovered the Cloth Hall and its local crafts, before continuing to Wawel Castle and stopping to admire its dragon on the banks of the Vistula.
Apart from their free time, all the participants in the Erasmus program have been involved in a variety of professional activities: work placements in libraries, mechatronics, marketing, refugee law, architecture, and construction. Several teachers also took part in job shadowing activities in teaching, mobility, and interculturality.
At the same time, we continued to explore places of history and remembrance: the Museum of Engineering and Technology, the heights of Zakopane, the depths of the Wieliczka salt mine, the districts of Podgorze and Kazimierz, and their tragic past. October was a month of professional and personal exchanges, great encounters, and learning more about each other.
The mobility organized for a group of Danish high school students who came to Krakow to learn more about the literature of our Nobel Prize winners - Wisława Szymborska and Olga Tokarczuk - will remain in our memory for a long time. Thanks to the kindness of the Wisława Szymborska Foundation and Krakow secondary schools, we managed to organize wonderful workshops.
But this is just one of the many memories we have from October. A big thank you to all the participants, students, mentors, teachers, and host companies, for these fulfilling and enriching moments!
